Ravens continue to surprise |
I wasn't going to write anything since it seemed that we were doing so well with not writing anything and the team winning but i thought that the good fortunes of the Baltimore Ravens should be exploited just a little bit now being 8-4 and counted out earlier in the season.
"It's been a long road but we are playing good smart football and being solid is one of the things that we practiced and preached through training camp." stated GM Dupree.
The Ravens are on a 5-game winning streak and happy with their position. |

Ravens win the battle but lose the war against Patriots |
You couldn't ask for anything else. You outgain the opponent in 1st downs, 3rd down completion percentage, Redzone tripsk Passing Yards, Total offense, Lesser Penalties, and Time of Possession and you think you should win....but turnovers hurt ALL THE TIME.
Boy Wonder QB Trent Edwards played well and didn't turn theball over before he was hurt in the game and veteran Bryon Leftwich took the helm. All told, the Ravens QB completed 21 of 40 passes for 298 yards and 0 TDs.
RB Willis McGahee ran for 108 yards and 1 TD on 24 attempts while backup running back Travis Henry ran for 29 yards on just 3 carries but had a costly fumble that turned the game around.
Rookie MLB James Laurinaitis led the team with 9 tackles and 1 forced fumble and recovery. CB Dominique Rod-Cromartie had 7 tackles and 1 sack while LB Terrell Suggs had 5 tackles.
The Ravens are a progressing team and have did their share of winning lately and this loss sets them back just a little but not enough to change their attitude and goal that they are a playoff team and that losses like this only build character for harder games down the road. |

Ravens Look to make Waves this Year with solid offseason |
Baltimore, MD - The reformation of the Baltimore Ravens is almost complete. GM Dupree joined the organization in the offseason (since he makes his home in the Baltimore area formost of the year) in hopes of bringing a playoff berth to his resident city.
The Ravens organization led by Dupree had some room to make moves and also bring people in. Losing out on WR Randy Moss and Kris Jenkins moved the Ravens into pursuing a solid core of free agents to help move them into a situation to where they could flourish. The QB position will tell the story if they can get there or not.
Free Agents brought in this year
DT Jamal Williams - The Chargers thought that they would break the bank in acquiring Kris Jenkins (33 tackles, 4 losses, 7 sacks) and gave up on a DT that had better numbers (28 tackles, 5 losses, 8 sacks). Jamal being 34 years old has lost a step but he's still a powerhouse in the middle and will look to wreak havoc in stopping the running game.
WR Laveranues Coles/WR Reggie Williams - The Ravens needed playmakers to throw too and went out and got solid ones. WR Coles has the speed to stretch the defense while Williams has the athletic ablility to be a solid WR in the slot. They were brought in to sandwich already budding star Mark Clayton to form the Baltimore Symphony. R
RB Travis Henry - Another castoff and welcomed star. Will be great in backing up Willis McGahee to provided a fast 1/2 combination against defenses that are tiring throughout the game.
RG Damien Woody/RT John Runyan - Got Run Game? Building up the Ravens offensive line for what they used to be known for was an obvious choice. Was something that needed to be done and was done for the better good of the team.
This team won't be looking to sit back and let other teams run all over them. This team will compete this year and will show the fortitude that will get them over the hump and into the playoffs....... |
