Breaking News |
Today Quarter Back J.P Losman of the Jacksonville Jaguars was arrested on 2 counts of Rape, 2 counts of Vehicular Manslaughter, and 1 count of failing to stop for an emergency vehicle. When cops tried to serve a warrant for his arrest after reportedly two woman came forward saying the football star held a gun to their heads and forced the two to perform sexual favors on him and his friends. But when they arrived on the scene they found what appeared to be his wife hitting him with his own football helmet. When the Police tried to arrest Losman he jumped into his vehicle and took the Police on an 8 hour police chase that caused two people to have serious injury when his black SUV drove of the road and ran into a car full of NUNS. Attempts to reach Losmans attorney Johnny Cocran was unsuccessful. When GM John Gibson was asked about it he laughed and said thats prolly why he threw an Interception and had a costly fumble. Also adding "We here will go through all the evidence. He will be treated fair and is presumed innocent intill proven guilty" Mug shots are already surfacing all around the Net.

Jaguars Offseason Preview |
The Jaguars' loss to the Chargers in the AFC Divisional Championship highlighted the problems that hindered them all season.
First of all was the offensive line, which gave up 5 sacks to the Chargers. William Thomas has been a weak spot all season being held accountable for 21 sacks (T-1st in USL). He was one of the first "franchise" left tackles that started a revolution at the position and is a possible Hall of Famer down the line, but he is at the end of his career and was noticeably slower off of the line this season. He is a free agent at the end of this season and isn't expected to be resigned by the Jaguars.
Secondly, the pass rush was a surprising disappointment this season. In 2007, the Jaguars defense was a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks, being top 5 in the league in sacks, interceptions and QB Rating against. This season, they were 26th in sacks, giving more time to opposing quarterbacks to make the play. This was no more evident than in the Red Zone where the Jaguar defense ranked dead last in the USL.
Looking Ahead- Free Agency
LOLB Kevin Burnett
DT Marcus Bell
HB Marion Barber
TE Matt Schobel
WR Reggie Williams
RG Floyd Womack
QB J.P. Losman
RT William Thomas
LE Paul Spicer
QB David Garrard
SS Josh Bullocks
The Jaguars have 4 starters who are expected to be Free Agents this offseason (Barber, Burnett, Losman, Thomas) and all are expected back, except for Thomas. It will be interesting to see what they do with key backups such as Womack, Williams, Schobel, Bell, and Bullocks. Spicer and Garrard are expected to be released.
The Jaguars Front Office ha never been big on signing big free agents, rather finding guys who fit there system. Last season they signed Hank Baskett (995 yards, 11 TDs) and Drew Carter (575 yards, 6 TDs) who leapfrogged incumbents Ernest Wilford and Reggie Williams by mid season, and backup guard Adam Snyder who could challenge Chris Naeole for a starting spot this season.
The Draft
This is the part of the offseason that the Jaguars are very excited about. They hold 3 1st round picks, including the fifth overall pick, and two second round picks, one being an early one with the 36th overall pick. The Jaguars will probably try and target a Defensive End, Tight End, and possibly some help on the offensive line with their first 5 picks. But the Jaguars have also never been afraid to move picks for players, last season acquiring key players such as Andre Dyson, Randy Moss, and Adalius Thomas in trades that involved picks. |
