Due to the failure of GMs Rodany Mendez, Romeo Mendez, and Brad Jones to correctly submit their re-signs, USL Commissioner Brad Stratton has announced that Ernie Sims and Calvin Johnson of the Lions, Julius Peppers and Jordan Gross of the Panthers, and Lance Briggs and Steve Smith of the Steelers have been suspended for Week 1 of the 2011 season.
In addition, Seahawks' GM Aaron Krause has been fired from the USL for failure to tender any RFAs or resign any players. Krause has not logged in once since joining the league. Krause took over after the departure of former Colts' GM Dustin Dingle.
